Lasso

Click the lasso on either the model or the workspace. Hold down the left mouse key and drag a freehand loop around an area (see Figure 6-15). You must close the loop; that is, you need to end the lasso at its start point. Otherwise, nothing will select. Selected mesh turns brown. If you don’t like the selection, press the ESC key or click the Clear Selection button at the bottom of the options box. Hold down the SHIFT key to deselect portions. Press the DELETE key to erase the mesh. Figure 6-16 shows a lasso loop around the bits that imported as a second model. Remember to highlight that model in the Object Browser box before trying to select it. After the first lasso is made, the Select tool returns to the brush.
